FIRST Robotics


FIRST Robotics
 
 
FIRST Robotics is looking for volunteers to assist with judging a Regional event taking place 3/11- 3/13/10 at WPI. This competition uses human sized robots. No special skills or background needed. More about the competition can be found at www.usfirst.org.
 
 In addition, FIRST requires FRC volunteers to sign up via our Volunteer Information and Matching System ( VIMS),  www.usfirst.org/vims.

About FIRST:
FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) has formed a partnership with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) to help increase the number of middle and high school students entering the fields of science, technology. engineering and math.

Under the agreement, the organizations will participate in one another's events, such as the U.S. FIRST Robotics Competition. The agreement will also focus on increasing the number of female competitors in the robotics competition.

FIRST was founded in 1989 by New Hampshire inventor Dean Kamen to increase interest in the STEM fields through its yearly robotics competitions and other events.
